Literally and figuratively.

This started out as a view that I saw when I was terribly, terribly bored. It’s a tree I saw out a window. Pretty boring, right?
So, having nothing better to do, I decided to draw the tree and the window. Honestly, I meant it to be more realistic, but as I said, I didn’t know where to draw the lines. So, I decided to make a design of the lines surrounding the window opening. So, it ended up being more abstract than I intended. I also realize that this is the direction my art is taking me. I’m doing patterned representational work.
Of course, I had to put in crows. I needed a stronger point of interest, so there it is. Second Storey Window.
Also, the holidays are over as of tomorrow morning. To me, it’s a relief. What I did like about this holiday season, is that I didn’t have to work the Christmas rush in retail.
Tomorrow is January 2nd. Such a relief it is, life going back to normal. Here’s a drawing I created several years ago, “January 2nd”.
