Everyone is familiar with “Here Comes the Sun” by George Harrison. I was, however, introduced to the song through this cover:
Peter Tosch….Here Comes the Sun
It was an anthem of a very beautiful spring.
Anyway, back to the present. It feels as if it’s been a long winter, but it hasn’t. In fact, the temperature has been unseasonably warm up until a few days ago. But it has been dark and cloudy. So, here’s a sketch, done for a change on a blank note card, since I’m out of paper until I get my supply in.
I’m hoping that the cards my sell, whereas the little matted sketches did not. I’m being true to myself, I’m coming up with inexpensive products from my artwork, that I can sell, rather than slave in retail selling someone else’s.
Oh, my New Year’s resolution? For my artwork? I plan to slow down and work more carefully. In the past, I would do version after version of a drawing until I got it just right. I’m not going to go back to that painstaking process, but I have been rushing, and I’m realizing my work is getting sloppier. So, more care.
I’m trying to make something similar to this, that I did years ago, but in a more subtle style.
