So, here is where I have landed on this drawing.  It’s a work-in-progress, but, as the title states…I made a big mistake.

 

 

The mistake is in proportions.  As you can see by the photo I’m using, the shrubs come to over half the height of the drawing…more like three quarters. That is considered an ideal ratio.  However, not thinking, I divided it in half.  Bad, bad, bad.  Breaks one of the common rules of proportion. Of course, people say rules are made to be broken, but most of the time, they’re not to be broken.  The rules are there for a reason.  Anyway, I’ll either have to start over, or compensate in some way.  Compensating is ideal, and I do have an idea….

So, I haven’t gotten far, have I?  The rest of my life has been busy.  I’ve gotten many irons in the fire at this point into get another business going…and art is on the back burner.  Mixed metaphors, you gotta love them.
