Ya Gotta Start Somewhere

Every artist faces a blank piece of paper, or a blank canvas at the start of his/her work.  It can been seen as a inspirational moment, a moment of promise and heightened anticipation…an all around high.  Or, to others, it can been seen, as a daunting challenge, almost a threat.  Unfortunately, I belong to the latter group of artists.

So, I’m starting another piece.  I find the best way to defeat the anxiety of starting is just to put down a little mark, followed by another little mark, and then you’re on your way.  So, here’s how the paper looks now, and a sneak peek at the reference photo I hope to do justice to.
