I must say, I’m getting intrigued by portraying irregular shapes with varied luminosity.  Clouds, and waves are a challenge that is not easy.  Since I often do things the hard way, it’s right up my alley.

I’m doing the wave in layers of different colors, much the way painters use glazes.  I hope that it gives a sense of transparency to the water.
