Finished. Well before the deadline. Now I have some time between this and the canvas for Aidan has a Posse, to do something for myself. The idea of a singer which appealed to me originally, is not clicking, now. Kwan Yin? Maybe…..
Anyway, the finish of “Winged Foal” for Pony Rides for a Purpose.
I think I’ve accomplished enough on “Winged Foal” to show where it’s going. I can tell I’m going to have to make the color of the horse a little more intense, as well as blending in the bottom of the background. So, in all it’s glory (so far), “Winged Foal”
(Grammar police note: I know I used the wrong “its” for showing possessive. I’m too lazy to go back and edit.)
I’m up against a deadline for this drawing, although not all that tight, and it’s my own procrastination that made it a bit of a pressure. So, I will be working a lot on this…..my beloved will just have to put up with dirty dishes.
Also, this is the date for the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens event. Hopefully, I’ll hear from them. I’d love to hear what kind of reaction “Tiger in the Jungle”, got.
I’ve been working pretty steadily on the project for the college students, and frankly, I’m getting really bored with it. There’s not too long to go with it, so I decided to take a break and work on the winged foal. Here’s where it stands:
Cheers to Art
As rehoming a tiger, do any of you remember “Tiger in the Jungle’, from last summer? To refresh your memory:
The link above shows where the drawing will be going…..a silent auction to support a children’s garden in Richmond, VA. I still have small print of “Tiger in the Jungle”, that I will be able to sell.
So, sometimes I feel as if I’m bragging when I find a way to use my artwork for healing and good. But then, maybe I’m just taking a little journey, seeing what one little person can do to change the world, however small that change may be. Welcome to my journey.
Projects coming out of the woodwork….I’ve agreed to work on illustrations for a couple of college students’ project, with a theme that I find healthy and healing. More about that later, when I get more details, and know if the young women want this discussed online.
In the meantime, as promised, I’m working on a different take on a winged horse. Here is the black and white sketch.
In the meantime, I’m getting ready for a Artisan’s Market which will be at the Gallery La La, on April 6, 12pm-7pm. If you’re in NYC or thereabouts, the address is 138 Sullivan Street in Soho. Honestly, it would be nice to make a living using my sales skills to sell my own work.
