• Another day of leisure

I’m still enjoying not having to go into the museum. I am going to have to go to put in my resignation, however. In the meantime, I’ve been working on a sketch for a larger drawing. This is the Wonder Wheel at Coney Island. I think in terms of magic lands, so popular in literature…

  • Just wanted to mention, some of my work will be in an art show “In the Place Where We Live”, in Long Island City, Queens. The reception is on July 21 from 6-9 pm. It’s at the M55 Galllery, at 44-02 23rd Street. I’m very excited. This is a big art show!

  • I’ve given some more time to thinking about what I mean by modern archetypes. Those of you familiar with Jung are familiar with the ideas of archetypes, characters and things that are buried deeply in our collective unconscious. These we all have in common, because of the common evolution of our brains. They show up…

  • I spent a lot of time on my website today, to make it more user friendly. I guess people didn’t realize that if they clicked on the small thumbnails,a larger version of the picture would come up with a bit of a description. I added a caption to that statement. I also installed Paypal buttons,…

  • I’m working on a finished version of this sketch. It’s called “Guardians”. Slow going on the final, though. I keep thinking in terms of what draws me to draw something. All I can think of is that my subconcious responds to modern archetypes. Surely, the images of the collective unconcious still speak to us. Perhaps…

  • I have a few small works in the CCCP gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The gallery is a small storefront, but looks are deceiving, there’s some good work by emerging artists. John A. Holt is the owner and curator, he’s doing this on his own dime . The work there is all under $300, to give…

  • Art Show

Once again, I will be participating in Greenpoint Gallery’s Salon show in Brooklyn. The address is 390 McGuiness Avenue in Greenpoint. The day is Friday, March 11, from 8pm to 2am. Hope to see you there!

  • Another Cat

Here’s the photo I worked from for “Embracing My Inner Cat”. This is Hannako, my pet. She’s a real pretty cat.

  • Embracing my Inner Cat

Here is my latest, “Embracing My Inner Cat”. My life is full of cats, my own cat, the cats I sit, and the strays in my neighborhood. Cats in my dreams, too. I think domestic animals like cats and dogs are symbolic of the nurturing we all need. Something we need to take care of…ourselves.
