The Bronx is up……….

Yes, I promised birds…………BUT.

I changed my mind again.

I found the files of old work, which was this woman’s treasure.  There’s a lot of stuff that I don’t think I put on this blog…was on my old Blogger Blog that still exists somewhere in the vast Universe of the internet, probably.  Maybe not, and I don’t give a……… something to do with a rat’s backside.

For instance this:

Turns out I like it..wasn’t sure it was any good when I painted it.  I did this when I was living in NYC, and missed nature.

I’ve got a lot of nature here.  Somehow, when I do a drawing of it, I feel a need to put in a hint of humanity …..20170712_1412102893307260327462880.jpg

or else I get mighty bored.  Remember me ranting about foliage?

So, sometimes I still think about New York City and wonder if I was happier there.  Mixed feelings, six of one, and half a dozen about the other.  I still wonder though.

It seems my artwork though, has gotten weaker, since I moved here.  The NYC work seems bolder.

Anyway…..I’m changing my mind again…..here’s my latest bird.  Which is also taken from a NYC theme.  Not to mention, it’s also a spring picture.  How’s that for three in one?

Ahem,….While We’re Waiting

Well, still my pencils and papers are in limbo, between dwelling places.  As an old friend of mine would put it, I’m “jonesing” on lack of creative time.  My eyeballs are bulging, and the veins in my forehead are throbbing.  So it feels, at least.  Recently, I’ve been reading that simple coloring relaxes adults in a way similar to meditation.  I miss my coloring!

I also have a long, thoughtful, and hopefully not boring commentary on rainbows to present..but it doesn’t make much sense to present that without the drawing to go with it.  Hmmm, well, back to the other subject.  My flight from New York.

Digging through old artwork during my move, I came across an old drawing of mine, devoted to the dream of somehow, someday,  going to live and succeed in New York.  At the time, I thought it was impossible to achieve.  However, it did happen.  How many people actually have a dream come true?  I’m one.

It Mocks Me!

It happens every year about this time…the view from my living room window mocks me.  The leaves fall, revealing one of the most beautiful, famous scenes anywhere.  Something I’ve tried and tried again to capture.  The Manhattan skyline.

It mocks me.

Some of my failures:

I must do this scene justice before I die.  Otherwise, my troubled soul will wander the Outer Boroughs of New York City.
