Already, can you believe it?
I’m tired, for now doing cat drawings. I’m sure I will do more at some point….but for now, that’s that.
Here’s the last drawing in the series, for now. Pumpkin, again

I’m at it again.
Cat Pictures. I realize, at least for now, drawing small cat pictures is the most soothing thing for me. Sounds odd, I know, but it works, and it’s a lot cheaper than a vacation in Bermuda. I don’t know, can you even go to Bermuda under the current restrictions? I get so confused.
Of course, most of my drawings are of Pumpkin. I’ve lost most of my other cat references when I moved.
Sometimes, I think I could do little cat pictures for the rest of my life. Of course, I will really get awfully bored. But for a time of healing, it works.
Yes, I promised birds…………BUT.
I changed my mind again.
I found the files of old work, which was this woman’s treasure. There’s a lot of stuff that I don’t think I put on this blog…was on my old Blogger Blog that still exists somewhere in the vast Universe of the internet, probably. Maybe not, and I don’t give a……… something to do with a rat’s backside.
For instance this:
Turns out I like it..wasn’t sure it was any good when I painted it. I did this when I was living in NYC, and missed nature.
I’ve got a lot of nature here. Somehow, when I do a drawing of it, I feel a need to put in a hint of humanity …..
or else I get mighty bored. Remember me ranting about foliage?
So, sometimes I still think about New York City and wonder if I was happier there. Mixed feelings, six of one, and half a dozen about the other. I still wonder though.
It seems my artwork though, has gotten weaker, since I moved here. The NYC work seems bolder.
and cleaner.
Anyway…..I’m changing my mind again…..here’s my latest bird. Which is also taken from a NYC theme. Not to mention, it’s also a spring picture. How’s that for three in one?
Meow for Now
Okay, I finished another small, masterpiece…sort of. Thing is, these small works are not as successful as I’d like.
In the past, I’ve done little work, as preliminary sketch for bigger drawings. For instance:
I got this:
From this:
s
I got this:
In the past, I’ve managed to put in lot of detail in the small drawings
And this is the latest one:
Bough bows
So, what am I doing wrong?
I guess, when I finally got around to drawing the large pictures, I planned them with a black and white sketch, then a color sketch. I worked on the large drawing slowly, paying attention to detail. Can I still do that in small size?
I guess it’s another learning curve. I tell you, my art career would make a good design for a roller coaster.
I had a dream that we had two female kittens and I named them Thelma and Louise. No particular reason to tell you this, but I enjoyed the dream.
So, I’m going through making small drawings, the kind that I can sell at an impulse price. What would be a collection of my work without a cat drawing. In particular, Pumpkin, the cat from New York City.
We’ve had many views of Pumpkin, as my favorite model over the past few years.
First off, when we first moved here…..
And then this; the original sketch
Caught him in the sunlight
And then made him into a notecard, which left something to be desired.
I can’t find a photo of that card, I guess I didn’t like it enough to shoot it.
I made another version of the drawing on the notecard. It’s small, but successful. Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present to you Pumpkin
Among discarded shoes.
My wrist is getting better, and I am savoring (More like salivating over) the prospect doing artwork again. Yes, in a little more than a week, my cast will be off. A little physical therapy, and I’ll be good to go.
After that announcement, I want to know…are you tired of blogs (including mine), trying to sell you something? Well, I’m going to put a reverse on that, and show you what you can’t have at any price.
This is my cat, Pumpkin. Not for sale, because, damn, it’s Pumpkin!
I gave this to a friend.
This one, because I’ll be damned if I know where it is.
This was given to a different friend as a house warming gift. Boy, did my bf get pissed I did that. But, he never told me he liked it!
I bartered this one for energy healing sessions. BF was pissed about that, too. In all seriousness, if I had known it was so special to him, I would have bartered something else.
I finally learned my lesson. BF loves it. Not for sale
This one I bartered for an art show in a coffeehouse in Manhattan. Yes, exhibit space is so competitive, you have to give some kind of exchange for even a coffeehouse show.
SOLD!
This one I lost by default, because I left it at a gallery too long after the show was over. we didn’t have a car back then. i always meant to make arrangements to pick it up, but time went by faster than I realized.
One of my favorites. Given to a friend. I do have reproductions of it. No reproductions of my friend. She’s one of a kind.
Given to a charity.
Given to charity.

Of course my favorite, and my logo. And damn! She was my cat Hannako!
There’s more, but that’s it for now. My finger is tired. When the cast comes off, I’ll be able to type normally, again. I’m thankful for that.
I have a veterinarian hospital interested in my work, in a town that’s right over the state border. That’s Brewster, NY. If anyone of my readers is old enough to remember the TV show, “That Girl’, the Marlo Thomas character lived in Brewster before she moved to NYC. It’s a very pleasant little town.
Anyway, enough of old TV shows. The veterinarians are looking for artwork to decorate the waiting rooms…a cat room and a dog room. As you can tell….I’ve got the cat room covered. Dogs, not so much…haven’t drawn a lot of dogs. After all, I have an inner cat, not an inner dog.
The only dog drawings I can think of are these:
In memorial of a good friend’s pet who left to go over the Rainbow Bridge:
And one I did as a commission for a charity. Unfortunately, nowhere can I find my digital copy of it.
But, back to cats….there’s one I forgot about. It’s this one, called “Kitten”
Not one of my favorites, but here’s a closeup of the kitten:
So, expect me to be doing a lot of dog pictures soon. Also, remember the Bott Shoppe I showed in in Mamaroneck, NY? There’s going to be a Pet Art Show on April 11, at 172 East Boston Post Road. I will have a drawing of a cat in it. Sorry, dog lovers.
St. Gertrude of Nevilles to be precise. Not St. Gertrude the Great, that’s another story.
One thing about being born on St. Patrick’s Day…everyone asks if you’re Irish. I’m not. However, being born on the Patron Saint of Cat’s Day makes sense. Anyone who has known me even a little while, knows I love cats.
So much so, I’ve done several drawings of them:
There’s one very sweet cat of ours that I never got around to drawing. In the interest of all cats, here’s “Odalisque”
And of course my logo:
Thank you for attending this parade of cats in honor of St. Gertrude’s Day! Also, in honor of my birthday.
I can’t sit at my desk. Pumpkin is resting on my desk’s chair, so I took the laptop into the kitchen. I can’t disturb a resting cat, but I can disturb a computer. It’s also a good idea that I keep my laptop away from Pumpkin. He likes to sharpen his claws on the keyboard, and the keys go flying. My “P”, will never work right, now.
I’m about to unveil the picture I drew of my bratty cat, and as I said before, it’s different. I still don’t know if I like it, or whether on New Year’s, it will show up on my list of failures. Never Mind. Without further ado, “Resting in the Sunshine”.
