Sometimes, you just gotta say @&^$^ it.

Okay, maybe it’s karma I earned for the pride I expressed in how much easier doing art is for me, now. …but I’m in a real mess with “Making Peace with January”.  After delicately laying color, it was bland and going nowhere, and I didn’t know what to do next.

So, I started scribbling, and then scratching, then scribbling again.  What I ended up with is a work-in-progress, which will a. Turn out to be a fabulous masterpiece. b.  a dismal failure destined for the scrap heap. c. One of those things that I think is bad, but everyone else loves, or d.  I’ll hold onto it all year, hoping I’ll like it after all, and it’ll end up in December in the retrospective of the year’s failures. But right now, it’s a scratched scribbled mess. But I’m stubborn, I’ll keep after it…even if it’s ruined.

In a way, it reminds me of the Joni Mitchel song “Clouds”. “I’ve looked at clouds from both sides now”.  Here’s a cloud drawing I did a long time ago:

And one from either further back (please excuse the glare on the glass…this is framed)>

But as it stands………here’s “Making Peace with January, 2015:”

I may be shouting and screaming and tearing my hair out soon…stay tuned. 😦
